Giggles

Giggles (born Maria Respeto in Brooklyn, New York) attended and graduated from South Shore High School where she received her musical training. Giggles got her claim to fame when she wrote and recorded the song “Love Letter” for the Cutting Records label.

“Love Letter” became a huge hit for Giggles, peaking at #21 on Billboard’s Hot Dance Music\Maxi-Singles Sales chart and playing on tons of New York radio stations. The success of the song gave Giggles the chance to perform in clubs in the West Coast and New York.

In 1989, Giggles released her second single, “Hot Spot” on Atlantic Records. The song peaked at #28 on Billboard’s Hot Dance Music\Maxi-Singles Sales chart and #48 on Billboard’s Hot Dance Music\Club Play chart. In 1992, Giggles released her debut album, “He Loves Me…He Loves Me Not” that included her biggest hit to date, “What Goes Around Comes Around” which peaked at #47 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #18 on Billboard’s Hot Dance Music\Maxi-Singles Sales chart.
The follow-up single, “He Said, She Said” peaked at #24 on Billboard’s Hot Dance Music\Maxi-Singles Sales chart. In 1994, Giggles released the single, “Memories of Love” on Cutting Records.

Today, Giggles performs under the name Maria “Giggles” Respeto. She is still continuing with her music. Her newest single, “Love Letter 2.0” has been released under the Boston-based record label Funusual Records. She also tours and performs too.
